Johnstownbridge played host to St. Laurences on Monday evening in Johnstownbridge where the underfoot was very soft. Clodagh Flanagan got the home side off to the better start when she pointed from play three minutes into the game. This settled the bridge girls and a flurry of points followed from Siobhan Hurley 0-3, Aoife Trant 0-1 and Aisling Holton 0-1, before St. Laurences got on the scoreboard when Aisling Treacy pointed a fee after eighteen minutes. Siobhan Hurley added two more points and Careen Farrell added her first point just before the break leaving the halftime score Johnstwonbridge 0-9, St, Laurences 0-1.
The going was very heavy in the second half and again it was the home side that scored first with a Roisin O Connell point. Carol Nolan started a come back when she pointed a long range free and followed that with a point from play. Siobhan Hurley quickly cancelled Carols efforts when she got two points in quick succession. St. Laurences found a gap in the Bride defence and Aisling Treacy found the back of the net. Siobhan Hurley and Clodagh Flanagan wideded the gap again with a point each. Carol Nolans free taken again caused problems for the home side when she pointed one free and found the net with another, but this was too late to make a difference to the outcome. Siobhan Hurley brought the game to an end with a point giving her a personal tally of nine points.
